- Following the birth of baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6, 2019, Meghan Markle is celebrating her first Mother's Day as a new mom.
- While Mother's Day in the U.K. took place on March 31, the occasion is being celebrated on May 12 in the U.S. in 2019.
- To celebrate the special occasion, Meghan and Harry posted an intimate portrait of their new son on Instagram. I'm not crying—you're crying!
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry seem pretty elated to be new parents. And surprising fans over the weekend, the royals shared the sweetest photo of their new baby, Archie, on Instagram on May 12, along with the most perfect caption celebrating Mother's Day.
They wrote:
"Paying tribute to all mothers today - past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honor and celebrate each and every one of you.
Today is Mother’s Day in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya, Japan, and several countries across Europe. This is the first Mother’s Day for The Duchess of Sussex.Quote from “lands”: my
mother
was
my first country;
the first place i ever lived."
Royal correspondent Omid Scobie previously revealed in an article for BAZAAR.com that Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, "has been on hand since April 16 and will spend the weekend—and Mother's Day!—with the new family of three." It's heartwarming to know that Meghan will be spending her very first Mother's Day as a new mom with her own mother. Plus, as baby Archie is Ragland's very first grandchild, the occasion is made all the more special.
Meghan and Harry introduced their son to the world in St. George's Hall in Windsor just two days after his birth. For the special occasion, Meghan wore a chic, white, Wales Bonner trench dress, with her favorite BB Suede Manolo Blahnik pumps, and a Jennifer Meyer necklace.
