Hailey Baldwin (aka Mrs. Bieber) says 'it hurts to be torn apart on the internet' - CNN

In a long Instagram post, the model -- and Justin Bieber's wife -- opened up about how others' online comments affect her and how she wishes for better connections with the new year.
"Because I love to connect, I do my best to expose my heart which means I love freely and empathize deeply, and because of that I also hurt very easily when I feel like people don't see my heart and see me for who I am," she said in the post.
Baldwin went on to say social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter are a "breeding ground for cruelty towards each other, and because people don't take the time to connect with each other on an honest level before they resort to hatred, it starts to damage what could be really beautiful human interaction and connection."
"It hurts to be torn apart on the internet," she said. "It hurts to be compared to other human beings every single day, it hurts for people to jump to conclusions and make assumptions. It hurts to be called names, and to feel like you don't measure up to a certain standard.. the list goes on and on."
It's something she thinks about often, she said, adding it's important to be "honest about how these things affect us mentally and emotionally."
It's not the first time the 23-year-old has spoken out about the downsides of social media fame.
In 2016, she told ES Magazine her generation has "a lot of eyes on them."
"Everybody my age struggles with insecurities, so take that and multiply it by 7 million people. There are people much older than me saying horrible things who have no business paying attention to what a 19-year-old does," she had said. "It's not the best feeling in the world. It comes with the job, so you just have to accept it and move on."
Except in her case --- it's not just 7 million people. Baldwin's Instagram account alone has over 24 million followers.

Here’s what’s happening in the world of television for Sunday, January 5. All times are Eastern.

Top picks

Golden Globes Arrival Special (NBC, 7 p.m.) and The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards (NBC, 8 p.m.): There are a lot of questionable things about the Hollywood Foreign Press Association—their taste, for one—but it cannot be denied that they seem to throw a good party.

Who’ll bring their drink on stage with them this year? Tune in, join us for our liveblog, then look for more coverage tomorrow morning. Oh, and while we typically don’t include red carpet coverage in our top picks, Billy Porter is rightfully nominated for Pose and last year, he wore this, so yeah, we’re thinking we’ll watch.

Regular coverage

The Simpsons (Fox, 8 p.m.)
Doctor Who (BBC America, 8 p.m.)
Shameless (Showtime, 9 p.m.)
The L Word: Generation Q (Showtime, 10 p.m.)
Dracula (Netflix, ongoing)

Wild card

Work In Progress (Showtime, 11 p.m.): We’re well past due for a check-in with this terrific Showtime series. Abby’s almond count is decreasing swiftly and the end of the last episode was pretty gripping. Bring on the remarkable tonal balance, the great acting, and the therapist lock-screen.

Margot Robbie and Kit Harington announced as presenters for upcoming Golden Globes

Margot Robbie and Kit Harington have been added to the announced list of presenters at this year’s Golden Globes

The annual awards ceremony is set to take place on Sunday in Los Angeles with Ricky Gervais taking on the role as show host for the fifth time.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association confirmed the names of several others stars who will also be presenting awards during the night, in a release on Friday.

Look lovely in lilac like Margot wearing Giambattista Valli

Margot Robbie never fails to impress Fashion Finder HQ, but for the Bombshell premiere in LA, she really made our jaws drop.

Everything from the make-up to the dress to the hair made this the actress’s best look to date. Stylist Kate Young dressed Margot in a couture gown by Giambattista Valli which is elegantly crafted from lilac chiffon that drapes the figure.

To keep in tune with the trends of yesteryear, the designer has featured a bubble hem and floral detailing on the empire waistline.

We seriously wish we could buy this dress, but the look-alikes in the carousel below will have to suffice. Make a statement like Margot in a high-street alternative by Boohoo and Goddiva or go a little more high-end with a dress by True Decadence.

Meanwhile, the HFPA have revealed the menu for this year’s event will be completely plant-based, in order to raise environmental awareness about food consumption and waste.

Leonardo DiCaprio tweet in support of the HFPA's plant-based menu.

The organisation has also partnered with Icelandic Glacial to eliminate single-use plastic and utilize glass water bottles.

Leaving Neverland: Court rules accusers can sue Michael Jackson companies - BBC News

Two men who featured in a documentary alleging sexual abuse by the singer Michael Jackson can pursue legal claims against two of his companies, a court has ruled.

Wade Robson and James Safechuck claim they were abused by the singer in the late 80s and early 90s while staying at his Neverland ranch.

Jackson died in 2009 but his family have denied the claims.

They described the documentary Leaving Neverland as a "public lynching".

A lower court had dismissed lawsuits brought by the two men in 2014 because California's statute of limitations required that claims of childhood sexual abuse be filed before an accuser's 26th birthday.

However a new law, which came into effect on 1 January, extends the timeframe up to a person's 40th birthday.

Both Mr Robson and Mr Safechuck claim they were abused by Jackson from the ages of seven and 10.

Vince Finaldi, the lawyer for the two men, said in a statement following the ruling: "We are pleased that the Court has recognised the strong protections California has put into place for sexual abuse victims under the state's new law extending the statute of limitations."

Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for Jackson's estate, said: "The Court of Appeal's ruling merely revived lawsuits against Michael Jackson's companies, which absurdly claim that Michael's employees are somehow responsible for sexual abuse that never happened."
