Royal polls: Meghan and Harry placed above just Andrew on royals public don’t want to fund - Express

A YouGov poll asking Britons which members of the Royal Family should and shouldn’t be funded by the tax-payer has revealed which royals should pay their own way. According to the poll of 1,642 British adults, 67 percent say Prince Andrew should not receive public funding.

“I can only hope that, in time, they will be able to rebuild their lives.

“Of course, I am willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required.”

And in third were Prince Charles and Camilla, with 51 percent saying they should get state funds, 35 percent saying they should be cut off and 14 percent saying they did not know.

Another YouGov poll, which asked around 6,600 respondents between November 2018 and November 2019 for their opinions on the Royal Family, saw the Queen finish in the top spot with 72 percent approval.

In second was Prince Harry with 68 percent, just two percent above his brother William in third place.

Brown, 25, took home the Mirror Ball trophy after competing against fellow amateur finalists Lauren Alaina, Ally Brooke and Kel Mitchell. The four remaining contestants danced in two rounds – one a rendition of previous performances during the 11-week season, and another new freestyle dance – in front of judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.

Brown and Bersten performed the Viennese waltz to “Lover” by Taylor Swift in the first round before returning to the stage for a freestyle dance to “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys and “Hollaback Girl” by Gwen Stefani.

Alaina and her professional dancer partner Gleb Savchenko danced the foxtrot to “Jolene” by Dolly Parton before showing their freestyle moves to “Country Girl” by Luke Bryan. Brooke and Sasha Farber danced the jive to “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner. Their second-round performance was to “Conga” by Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine. Lastly, Mitchell and Witney Carson danced the jazz to “We’re All in This Together” by the High School Musical cast before dancing freestyle to “Jump” by Kris Kross.

The two-hour finale featured live performances from Cher, Pitbull and Ne-Yo. ABC network also aired its first promo for the upcoming season of the Bachelor starring Brown’s ex Pilot Pete. The promo showed Brown visit Peter Weber before he embarked on his own journey to find love.

American Music Awards: 10 things you missed, from Taylor Swift’s speech to Billie Eilish’s message - The Washington Post

“This year for me has been a lot. It’s been a lot of good; it’s been a lot of really complicated,” Swift said, thanking fans as she accepted the artist of the year prize near the end of the three-hour telecast. “On behalf of my family and me, thank you so much for being there and for caring.”

There was no mention of Swift’s highly publicized battle with Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta, the owner and president, respectively, of her former record label, Big Machine Label Group. Last week, the pop superstar alleged that the executives were trying to block her from performing her older songs on the AMAs (for a medley of her decade of hits), which subsequently led to days of online chaos. Although in true Swift fashion, she may have hinted at the fight see how below, along with nine more things you missed from the show.

1) Taylor Swift’s speech and medley

Swift loves a good coded message or veiled reference or symbol. Sometimes they’re more obvious, such as when she won pop/rock album for “Lover,” and told everyone how happy she is at her new home that is not Big Machine. “This album felt like a new beginning. And I also really love my record label, Universal and Republic,” Swift said. “Monte Lipman, Lucien Grainge, thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make.”

In her note to fans about Braun and Borchetta last week, Swift referred to the pair as “men who are exercising tyrannical control” and said she felt they were telling her to “be a good little girl and shut up.” Combined with the criticism lobbed at Swift over her career (“She has too many ex-boyfriends!” “She can’t possibly write her own songs!”), it was no surprise she pointedly started her artist of the decade medley with “The Man,” a track from her new album that takes aim at gender double standards.

“I’m so sick of running as fast as I can, wondering if I’d get there quicker if I were a man,” she sang, wearing a white shirt with the names of her albums written on them, surrounded by young girls as her backup dancers. “I’m so sick of them coming at me again cause if I was a man, then I’d be the man.”

2) Billie Eilish’s message.

“Earlier this year my album ‘Igor’ was the No. 1 album in the country. And then this 17-year-old girl who dressed like a quarterback decided to change that,” Tyler, the Creator, said by way of introducing Billie Eilish, who won new artist and alternative rock artist.

Cut to: Eilish’s literally fiery performance of “All the Good Girls Go to Hell," which looked like the everything was going up in flames — and made even more sense once you saw the message on her T-shirt, which read “NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET.” No surprise she’s already one of the highest-profile Gen Z voices sounding the alarm about climate change.

3) Lizzo’s performance.

For most televised performances so far, Lizzo has gone with the surefire audience favorites, “Truth Hurts” or “Good As Hell” or “Juice.” But she changed things up for the AMAs, as she belted out the ballad “Jerome.”

“AMAs! I don’t know where you’ve been and I don’t know where you’re going. But I know you’re here right now for a special reason. Everybody put your lights up,” she called out, as the crowd obediently switched on the flashlights on their phones and started waving them around. “This light represents the love you have for yourself. So shine bright!”

4) Halsey’s (possible) Grammys shade.

Did Halsey take a dig at her lack of Grammy nominations last week?! We may never really know — but that was the assumption on social media after the pop star won for pop/rock song for “Without Me,” and gave a long speech about how she used to care so much about award show trophies, until she grew up and realized they aren’t true validation.

“Most of these awards really aren’t what they seem. At all,” she said. “I am so thankful to the AMAs, because they’re the world’s largest fan-voted awards show. ... Sometimes you grow up and the stuff that you believed in starts to lose its magic. But music never does, because real fans, real artists and real stories keep that magic alive.” (Later, Swift called it “literally the speech of the whole night.”)

5) Post Malone’s dancing.

Post Malone won rap album and had quite the performance with Ozzy Osbourne, Travis Scott and Watt for the televised debut of their new collaboration, “Take What You Want.” What made the rounds online? His extremely enthusiastic reaction to Shania Twain’s medley.

6) Shania Twain’s medley.

Speaking of the country-pop legend, she has a new Las Vegas residency to promote, so she closed out the AMAs with her greatest hits: “You’re Still the One," “Every Man of Mine,” “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man! I Feel Like a Woman.” The audience went crazy, even as she opened with an acoustic guitar medley of popular tunes from Swift, Post Malone, Twenty-One Pilots and Drake. Random? Absolutely. But it was Shania, so she made it work.

7) Camila Cabello’s big night.

The only artist to get more screen time than Swift? It certainly felt like Cabello, who got two performance slots: one for her new song, “Living Proof,” and another to duet with her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes, on their hit “Señorita,” which also won collaboration of the year. Once again, just like a strikingly similar rendition on VMAs, the couple leaned in for a kiss, and the audience held its breath in anticipation ... and then they pulled away from each other. Shall we expect the same thing yet again at the Grammys?

8) Green Day’s anniversary.

Green Day’s smash album “Dookie” turns 25 this year, and to celebrate, they got to play “Basket Case” and their new single, “Father of All,” at the AMAs. Eilish, born years after that album was released, was psyched to introduce the group before their performance: “Growing up, there was no band more important to me or my brother,” she explained.

9) Ciara’s multitasking.

After a high-energy rendition of “Melanin,” Ciara, who hosted the show, asked her adorable small children in the audience for their thoughts.

“How did I do?” she asked her son, age 5.

“YOU DID GOOD!” he yelled.

Ciara turned to her daughter, age 2. “How did Mommy do?”

“GOOD!” she declared.

“Aww, thank you so much, my babies," Ciara exclaimed, and turned to the audience: "I’m here to tell you that women can do it all.”

10) Lil Nas X’s big year continues.

After a win at the Country Music Association Awards and six Grammy Award nominations this month, Lil Nas X continued his victory lap with a win for rap/hip-hop song for “Old Town Road,” the game-changing TikTok meme turned gigantic hit. He accepted the prize while wearing an excellent green suit with a very earnest speech.

“I don’t want to get too deep," he said. “But I want to say whether you’re 15, 30, 55, or whatever, and you feel like your moment has passed — know that it’s waiting for you, you know?”

Taylor Swift moonwalks past Michael Jackson’s record at AMA Awards - Fox News

Taylor Swift has moonwalked past Michael Jackson’s record at the 2019 American Music Awards, taking home six honors including artist of the year and artist of the decade.

The pop star, who walked into Sunday night’s show with 23 AMAs, surpassed the King of Pop’s 24 wins at the fan-voted show. She rambled onstage as she won the final award of the night — artist of the year — and repeatedly thanked her fans for always showing up — during both the good and bad times.

It was a family affair at the AMAs: Swift’s father and teary-eyed mom sang along as the singer performed a medley of her hit songs — a performance Swift said in a Nov. 15 social media post was put in jeopardy by Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, the owners of her master recordings.

She didn’t mention the men during her acceptance speeches at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, but this did thank her new label for allowing her to freely express herself as an artist.

“This album really felt like a new beginning, and I also really love my record label, Universal and Republic. Monte Lipman, Lucian Grainge, thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make,” Swift said after winning favorite pop/rock album for “Lover,” her first album not released on Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group. “As a songwriter it’s so thrilling to me that I get to keep doing that.”

Swift’s other wins include favorite female pop/rock artist, favorite adult contemporary artist and favorite music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”

Other big winners at the AMAs included Khalid and BTS — neither act attended the show but won three prizes.

Billie Eilish picked up two awards — new artist of the year and favorite alternative artist. She also took the stage — surrounded by fire — to perform her song, “All the Good Girls Go to Hell.”

Lizzo, who was nominated for three honors but walked away empty handed, screamed at the top of her lungs while performing the ballad “Jerome,” one of several songs from her album that earned her a leading eight Grammy nominations.

Christina Aguilera was a vocal powerhouse when she took the stage alongside A Great Big World and rock icon Ozzy Osbourne — who has been recovering from a bad fall that took place earlier this year — was a highlight as he performed with Post Malone and Travis Scott.

Shania Twain closed the night with a memorable performance. Other nostalgic performances included Toni Braxton and Green Day.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello heated up the stage as they stood close together while singing “Senorita,” staring in each other’s eyes as they sang from one microphone at times. They even rubbed noses at the end.

The pair won collaboration of the year for their No. 1 hit song. Other winners included Dan + Shay, Halsey and Lil Nas X. Top nominee Post Malone took home favorite rap/hip-hip album for “Hollywood’s Bleeding” and Carrie Underwood was appropriately teary-eyed as she won favorite country album for “Cry Pretty.”

“It’s been a wonderful year,” Underwood said.

Selena Gomez kicked off the AMAs as Swift and Halsey got out of their seats to cheer their pal on. R&B singer Ciara hosted the show, which aired live on ABC.

Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift Were BFF Goals at the 2019 AMAs - E! NEWS

Two words: BFF goals!

It's no secret that Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are the definition of friendship goals, but the two took things to a whole new level at the 2019 American Music Awards. Of course, the dynamic duo came dressed to kill when they graced the red carpet at the star-studded event.

Both superstars were totally in-sync as they both dazzled in green dresses. The "Lose You to Love Me" singer made a major splash at the awards ceremony when she showed up wearing a lime-colored Versace mini-dress that featured gold medal details on the sides of her fun and flirty number. She also debuted a short hairdo and slipped into matching satin green heels that tied her lewk together.

As for the Lover star, she brought the glitz and the glamour in an emerald green beaded design by Julien Macdonald. Her black thigh-high boots were chef's kiss to her razzle-dazzle outfit.

Aside from their unexpected matching moment on the red carpet, the two really showed their support for each other throughout the awards ceremony. For Selena's opening performance of the awards show, it was clear Taylor was her biggest fan.

And since Swifties know how much the pop star loves to dance, she put her famous moves on display as the 27-year-old star belted out the lyrics to her new songs, "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now." Cameras captured Swift cheering on her gal pal and screaming during Selena's first performance to "Lose You to Love Me," and right before she did her jaw-dropping outfit change where she revealed a mirrored-styled bodysuit.

The 29-year-old pop star's enthusiasm was especially sweet since this marked her longtime BFF's first live television performance in two years!

Moreover, Selena returned the favor when the "You Need to Calm Down" singer hit the stage to perform a medley of her hit songs, including "I Knew You Were Trouble," "Love Story," "The Man" and so many others. In fact, everyone cheered during her opening number when made a major fashion statement.

Swift donned a white button-down shirt with phrases and album titles written all around, including "Fearless," "Speak Now" and "Red" (to name a few).

However, when the 29-year-old pop star began belting lyrics to "I Knew You Were Trouble," Selena could be seen jamming along with Andrea Swift (Taylor's mom). It was truly iconique!

While this wasn't necessarily planned, the two megastars also did similar things during their performances. The two both had fabulous outfit changes, where they revealed glitzy and glamorous bodysuits. Selena opted for a shimmery silver number by Christian Dior, while Taylor switched into a glimmering gold piece.

Again, they were on the same wave-length. And as the famous saying goes, great minds think alike!

"At one stage he grabbed her hand and rested it on his knee. She then gently started stroking his leg.

“Then he clutched her hand with both of his and was playing with her hands.”

Timberlake had been snapped wearing his wedding ring earlier in the week but was not seen with it on during the night out.
