Jennifer Lawrence Wore a Dior Gown to Marry Cooke Maroney - HarpersBAZAAR.com

  • Jennifer Lawrence has now tied the knot with Cooke Maroney.
  • Maroney and Lawrence hosted a clambake wedding rehearsal dinner on Friday night, ahead of their big day.
  • Their wedding took place at Belcourt of Newport, Rhode Island, and was attended by a whole host of celebs.

Jennifer Lawrence is now married, People magazine has confirmed.

The Oscar-winning actress wed art gallerist Cooke Maroney in a Rhode Island wedding, attended by the likes of Sienna Miller, Adele, Emma Stone, Amy Schumer, and Kris Jenner.

After a clambake wedding rehearsal dinner on the private Rose Island, Lawrence and Maroney's nuptials took place in the mansion Belcourt of Newport. According to People, the venue has a seasoned history and is even thought to be haunted. It does, however, feature a jaw-dropping ballroom, making it the perfect wedding venue.

People reported that Lawrence wore a Dior gown for her big day, which was attended by around 150 guests.

In an adorable interview on the NAKED with Catt Sadler podcast back in June 2019, Lawrence revealed, "I definitely wasn’t at a place where I was like, ‘I’m ready to get married.' I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him."

The actress also explained that the feeling was very much mutual and said, "We wanted to marry each other. We wanted to commit fully."

"He’s my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever," she said. "And fortunately the paperwork exists for such a thing. It’s the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and, you’re like, 'You can’t leave!' So I wanted to take that offer."

Congratulations to the happy couple on their wedding day!

Is Tom Brady Trolling Robert Kraft With Massage Parlor Cameo In Netflix Show? - NESN

Those who watched Paul Rudd’s new Netflix comedy were in for quite a surprise.

The show, “Living With Yourself,” recently was released, and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady makes an appearance, and a pretty interesting appearance at that.

In the scene, Rudd’s character rolls up to a massage parlor, and after originally being skeptical of going in, he sees none other than Brady walk out.

Brady looks at a shocked Rudd sitting in his car and says, “First time?”

    Rudd responds: “Uh-huh, you?”

“Sixth,” Brady said as he gets into the back of a car, in what appears to be a clear reference of the number of Super Bowl rings Brady has.

You can watch the scene here.

This obviously is notable because of Patriots owner Robert Kraft’s ongoing legal issues after he was charged in February with two counts of allegedly soliciting prostitution at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Florida.

Here’s some context to how the scene came about, via Refinery29.

Luckily, (show creator Timothy) Greenberg, could and once he had written Brady into the script, executive producer Jeff Stern reached out to the football star’s agent and his publicist. Brady was interested, but it was football season. “So, we were waiting and waiting and waiting for the Patriots to finish their run and then, sure enough, they won again,” Greenberg, a “long-suffering” Jets fans, says of the Patriots 2019 Super Bowl win.

During this waiting period, news also broke that had them convinced they were going to lose Brady. In 2018, Patriots owner Robert Kraft was charged with soliciting a sex worker at a day spa in a strip mall “that looked almost exactly like what we were shooting. Like, I would have used it as a reference photo,” Greenberg admits. “So we’re like, ‘Alright, this is clearly not going to happen now.”

In the end, it did. After the Patriots won, Greenberg, Rudd, and the crew headed up to Boston to shoot the cameo in a parking lot.

The story also notes that Greenberg originally wrote the script four years ago, though the filming didn’t take place until this year.

You can be the judge of how much or little of a dig at Kraft this is, but it is a stunner nevertheless that Brady would agree to do this.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Relationship With The Media Is Much Worse - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Being in the spotlight certainly can’t be easy — there is no doubt about that. When you are a celebrity or a public figure, it is difficult to do the ordinary, everyday things that most of us simply take for granted. Doing something as basic as stepping out for a cup of coffee can set the stage for a flurry of photographers, and many high-profile people have their privacy invaded each and every day.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been a media sensation for years now, and it is somewhat safe to say that things are actually getting a little out of hand. In the early stages of their relationship, Prince Harry actually released a statement out of concern for Markle’s safety, given that she was suddenly being hassled by the media.

As members of the royal family, fans around the world, as well as media outlets, take a great interest in everything the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do on a daily basis. Why is Prince Harry and Markle’s relationship with the media much worse than most people realize?

Prince Harry knows all too well the negative effects of the media

Prince Harry was only twelve years old when his beloved mother, Princess Diana, was tragically killed in a car accident in Paris. The car Princess Diana was traveling in was going at an exceptionally high speed in order to escape the watchful eyes of photographers when they crashed into a concrete pillar in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, according to Reader’s Digest.

This changed Prince Harry‘s life drastically and is something that will always be with him. Many blame the media — specifically, the paparazzi — for the late princess’s death. And it would not be surprising if Prince Harry harbored strong feelings about the industry and its people.

Meghan Markle’s personal letter was published

Prince Harry isn’t the only one who feels the effects of the news media. Not too long ago, Duchess Meghan wrote a very personal letter to her estranged father: Thomas Markle.

According to CBS News, the Duchess of Sussex is involved in a lawsuit against a British tabloid for leaking the contents of the letter, in which she wrote about her feelings regarding her family situation. The media has also been reporting on her personal life and her reputation a lot — and it’s far from a positive spin.

Prince Harry filed lawsuits against two tabloids

As if the incident involving Markle’s leaked letter weren’t enough for the royal couple to be dealing with, Page Six reports that Prince Harry has filed lawsuits against two British tabloids himself.

Apparently, his phone was hacked and private voicemails were stolen. Although Buckingham Palace has not released specific details of the incident, we know that the voicemails mentioned were several years old, from before Prince Harry and Markle ever even met. This is a huge violation of his privacy, and sadly, there is more to the story.

According to The Guardian, earlier this year, Markle and Prince Harry felt that their security was at risk due to helicopters flying over their rented home in order to obtain photographs. The prince said in a statement that pictures of the living and dining areas were obtained, as well as direct photographs of the bedroom. How awful for the duke and duchess to have to deal with that.

Why is Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the media much worse than people realize?

Most royal fans don’t realize how frightening it can be behind the scenes. We all see the tabloid articles regarding Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, but it is easy to forget that there is often more going on. The royal couple deals with their fair share of negativity, yet, they are constantly hassled on a regular basis, something that they are desperately trying to get away from. Their relationship with the media is much worse than people think, and we can only hope that it gets better as time goes on.

Meghan Markle Wants Royal Fans to Stop Believing This Big 'Misconception' About Her - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Meghan Markle has achieved the pinnacle of fame worldwide, following her marriage to Prince Harry in May 2018. The former actress has had a notoriously difficult time since the wedding and has suffered from negative press almost constantly.

Recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to fight back and announced a lawsuit against the British tabloid the Mail on Sunday. The news of the lawsuit has caused many royal experts to dig deep into Markle and Prince Harry’s past, trying to decide when it all went wrong for Markle.

Meghan Markle wasn’t a very popular actress

During her journey to the top, Markle didn’t exactly have an easy time of it. She worked as a suitcase girl on Deal Or No Deal before landing some small roles in films like Horrible Bosses and Get Him to the Greek. Markle worked steadily, getting some leading roles in made-for-television movies, but didn’t get her big break until 2011 when she was cast as Rachel Zane on the drama series Suits

Thanks to Markle’s role on Suits, television audiences started to recognize her name and face. For five years, Markle appeared on the show and the celebrity that she earned from her role enabled her to work on some other passion projects, like her lifestyle blog The Tig.

Still, Markle was never what one would consider an A-list actress, and was exclusively known to most of her fans as Rachel Zane on Suits. While many people think that Markle’s occupation as an actress would have prepared her for life in the royal family spotlight, as a 2017 interview with Markle and Prince Harry reveals, that was not the case at all.

Prince Harry ‘tried to warn’ Meghan Markle about the press

The day that Prince Harry and Markle got engaged, they gave a traditional interview to the press. The interview was an intimate look at the couple’s relationship, and to date, is probably the most revealing interview that they have ever given.

In the interview, Markle said that she “didn’t have any understanding” of what it was like to date a member of the royal family and was completely unprepared for the intense scrutiny that she was receiving. Prince Harry stated that he tried to warn Markle “as much as possible,” but they both admitted that they were surprised by the reaction that the media and public had to the news of their relationship.

Markle also detailed a major misconception that people have about her: most people think that because Markle is an actress, she would have been prepared for the onslaught of media attention. In fact, Markle stated, she filmed the majority of Suits in Toronto, well away from the paparazzi and enjoyed a fairly peaceful life.

    What’s next for Meghan Markle?

It seems clear that Markle has been more than a little overwhelmed by all the negative attention that she has received since joining the royal family. She has bounced from one tabloid scandal to another, with very little positivity in between from either the public or the press.

Now that Markle is reportedly working with a new publicity team, she could be ready to change up the narrative surrounding her personality and work with the press to reshape her image.

Hopefully, the next year will bring a positive change to Markle’s story.

Quentin Tarantino Won't Recut 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' for China (Exclusive) - Hollywood Reporter

The country's regulators pulled the film from the schedule a week before its release Oct. 25.

Quentin Tarantino has no intention of recutting his Once Upon a Time in...Hollywood to appease China's censors.

A source close to the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter that the auteur is taking a take-it-or-leave-it stance in the wake of Chinese regulators pulling the film from the schedule a week before its release in the country Oct. 25.

THR reported earlier on Oct. 18 that the release of the acclaimed film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, has been put on hold indefinitely. No explanation was given to Sony Pictures Entertainment, the studio behind the film, as to why. Sony declined to comment.

The decision to halt the release is speculated to be about Tarantino's portrayal of the late martial arts hero Bruce Lee, who was of Chinese descent.

As THR previously reported, sources close to Beijing-based Bona Film Group, which is one of the investors in the film, and China's Film Bureau, say Bruce Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, made a direct appeal to China’s National Film Administration, asking that it demand changes to her father's portrayal. Friends and family of the Hollywood action star have criticized Tarantino for his portrayal of Lee, saying it doesn't resemble the real-life man and is instead a caricature.

But Tarantino, who is known to be opposed to any kind of tinkering with his films and has final-cut rights included in his contract, has no plans to bring his film back to the editing bay, especially given that China has offered no explanation for what is objectionable in the film that revolves around the events leading up to the infamous Manson Family murders of 1969.

One source suggested that China may finally be balking at Once Upon a Time's violence, which is graphic at times but far less than a typical Tarantino film, even though regulators approved it for release there (Bona was poised to handle distribution duties in China for the China launch).

The film would have marked Tarantino's first proper release in China and tapped into the country's enormous box office potential. The film has earned $366 million to date and likely would have exceeded the $400 mark after bowing in the Middle Kingdom. DiCaprio remains a huge star in China thanks to Titanic, which became a gigantic hit in the country earlier in his career.

In recent months, China has sought to exert greater control over the American entertainment sector, particularly when it comes the industry's reaction to the situation in Hong Kong, where pro-democracy protesters have faced a violent response from mainland-backed police forces. Perhaps feeling the economic heat , everyone from Mulan actress Crystal Liu to the Lakers’ LeBron James have either sided with the Chinese regime or denounced any criticism of its authoritarian tactics.

But South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker continue to be a thorn in the side of the Chinese regime thanks to a series of episodes mocking the country's rulers as well as the celebrities who appear to be ignoring its human rights abuses and toeing the party line.

Many Hollywood studio films have undergone edits in order to get into China, including last year's Oscar-winning Queen music biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which removed any mention of protagonist Freddie Mercury's sexual orientation (China frowns upon films with gay leads).
