Everything We Know About Kevin Hart's Car Crash & Ongoing Recovery - E! NEWS

New details continue to emerge about Kevin Hart's involvement in a violent car crash last Sunday.  

As we've previously reported, the incident took place at 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 1 on a notoriously dangerous route leading into Malibu, Calif. The 40-year-old comedian was seated on the front passenger side of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when it veered off Mulholland Highway, went through a fence and landed in a ditch. According to a collision report obtained by E! News, 28-year-old Jared Black was driving both Hart and another passenger, 31-year-old Rebecca Broxterman, at the time of the accident. Broxterman is Black's reported fiancée and personal trainer to Hart's wife, Eniko Hart. 

In a 911 call placed at the scene and obtained by E! News, a witness told the operator it looked as if the vehicle's "roof [was] crushed" and the door "smashed." The caller noted he saw only two individuals, explaining in the audio that both were "conscious" but "scared because they're stuck in there." 

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol said Hart left the scene at some point to seek medical attention. According to reports, Hart's security team drove him to his home in Calabasas. 

The collision report cites Hart's injuries as "major," Black's as "major" and Broxterman's as "minor." Black, whose current condition is still unknown, was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center. Authorities have said alcohol is not a factor in the crash. 

In a second 911 call obtained by E! News and placed at 2:13 a.m. PST from Hart's home, an unknown female caller told the operator a man, presumed to be Hart, was "not coherent at all" and couldn't "move" after a car crash. 

The caller, who said Hart was breathing, not vomiting and did not look pale, further claimed in the audio that the crash happened "like 20 minutes ago" outside of the couple's "gated community." She also noted an injury to Hart's spine. 

Hart was ultimately hospitalized at Northridge Hospital, where he underwent back surgery and is said to be "doing fine." A spokesperson for the star's production company told E! News in a statement that Hart is "expected to have a full recovery very soon."

Eniko, who married Hart in 2016, shared a similar update when paparazzi caught her heading into the hospital he was being treated at on Monday. 

"He's great," the 35-year-old said. "He's going to be just fine. He's good. Everybody's good."

According to TMZ, Hart is expected to be released from the hospital by the end of the week but will "require extensive physical therapy" to fully recuperate from his injuries. Despite a possible long road ahead, Hart can rest assured he has Hollywood's full support. 

In addition to receiving well wishes from his celebrity friends, Hart's former co-star and close pal Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson actually cut his honeymoon short to make an appearance on Kelly Clarkson's upcoming talk show on Hart's behalf. "When my son @KevinHart4real goes down with an injury, his big daddy steps in," Johnson tweeted Wednesday. "I did leave my honeymoon early (Lauren approved cos she LOVES Kelly) and now me and Kelly are new best friends."

Just two months ago, Hart purchased the vintage car as a birthday present to himself. He dubbed it the "Menace."

If there’s a product that Kim Kardashian sells to make her fortune, it’s influence. After all, the star has more than 140 million Instagram followers, and she uses that platform to promote everything from slimming undergarments to her own brand of beauty products. All of those posts earn her an astounding amount of money—sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars for a single picture with a simple caption. 

On top of that, she has been at the center of the long-running reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians and has been featured across media platforms throughout her life. You might think, then, that someone so familiar with selling her own influence would recognize her power as a role model, but that’s not the case. 

Kardashian recently opened up in a cover story for the September issue of Vogue Arabia. In it, she is interviewed by her husband, Kanye West. The interview touches on many private moments of the star’s life, and she mentions her feelings about being a role model and why it took so long for her to recognize that responsibility.

Family is very important to Kardashian

Throughout the interview, Kardashian touches on her life with Kanye West and their four children. Their daughter North was born in 2013 and was followed soon after by brother Saint in 2015. Kardashian was advised not to undergo any further pregnancies due to a medical condition.

However, the pair wanted to continue to grow their family, so they turned to surrogacy. Their daughter Chicago was born in 2018 and their son Psalm was born in 2019. 

Kardashian has a very busy life. In addition to her reality television series, her many promotional appearances, and her work alongside her husband in his music and fashion endeavors, she has also recently announced her desire to earn a law degree. Despite all of these demands on her attention, Kardashian still makes her children a priority.

This is a balance she’s had to figure out since her very first child, as she explained in an interview with E! News: “I took a hiatus after I had the baby, and found it challenging to start working again because I didn’t want to spend any time away. But you adjust and prioritize, and just figure it out.”

Having children made Kardashian aware of her influence

While Kardashian’s influence is her primary source of income, she never felt the pressure of it until she had children of her own. “I never felt the responsibility of being a role model until I had kids,” she explained in the Vogue interview. 

Having children of her own apparently made it clearer to her just what influence she has and how she can make choices to wield it in ways that impact others. Perhaps that is what is driving her decision to focus on a legal career.

After helping a woman convicted of a nonviolent drug offense get out of prison, Kardashian has turned her attention to learning more about the legal system so that she can continue to make changes there. 

She has no regrets about living her life in the public eye

Even with the new focus on how her influence impacts the world around her, Kardashian expresses no regrets about living her life so openly. “Even in my darkest of times I don’t regret putting myself out there for the world to see. People have shared with me over the years how much it has helped them to feel less alone when dealing with their own adversity. I love having a voice and I appreciate the platform that I have been given, even though I do wish I could have more privacy at times,” she explained. 

Whether it is as an influencer, a mother, or a legal advocate, Kardashian has the power behind her to make a real impact on the world, and it seems she now recognizes just how much that power means.

Kevin Hart Will Require Months of Rehab After Car Crash - TMZ

Kevin Hart is on the mend, but he won't be out of the woods for a long time, the comedian will require extensive physical therapy ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to Kevin tell us he's expected to be released from the hospital by the end of the week. However, he'll have a heavy physical therapy workload in the coming weeks, along with a steady schedule of follow-up doctors appointments.

While we've been told Kevin's Sunday night back surgery was a success -- there's still work to be done to ensure he comes back 100 percent.

TMZ broke the story ... cops say Kevin was riding shotgun in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda early Sunday morning when it careened off Mulholland Highway, leaving the driver and a backseat passenger pinned. Kevin left the scene to get medical help and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Crash investigators told us alcohol was not a factor, but we are told cops are looking into excessive speed as a possible cause of the wreck. A witness within earshot of the crash said they heard tires screeching -- like the vehicle was peeling out -- before hearing a loud boom.

The driver of the vehicle, Jared Black, was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center, but his condition is unknown. Jared's fiancee, Rebecca Broxterman -- who is Eniko Hart's trainer -- was in the backseat, but made it out with minor pain.

It Chapter Two Review - IGN

There’s a recurring joke in It Chapter Two that lead protagonist Bill Denborough — played as an adult by James McAvoy and once again as a kid by Jaeden Martel — can’t write a satisfactory ending to any of his horror-thriller novels. That gag is almost a metaphor for the film itself, which can’t quite stick the landing after the high expectations set by its blockbuster 2017 predecessor. Although marred by pacing issues and some shoddy CGI, It Chapter Two still has enough creepy set-pieces and solid performances to bring the saga to an effective, albeit formulaic, conclusion.By employing flashbacks at various points throughout, It Chapter Two has a more fragmented structure and jerkier rhythm than the preceding film. The first half rushes along as it introduces and unites all the adult incarnations of the Losers’ Club -- Bill, Beverly (Jessica Chastain), Richie (Bill Hader), Mike (Isaiah Mustafa), Ben (Jay Ryan), Eddie (James Ransone), and Stanley (Andy Bean) -- in order to get on with their mission to kill Pennywise (Bill Skarsgård) once and for all.

After speeding through the adult Losers’ Club set-up, the movie slows down to catch its breath when reintroducing their younger selves -- Bill, Beverly (Sophia Lillis), Richie (Finn Wolfhard), Eddie (Jack Dylan Grazer), Ben (Jeremy Ray Taylor), Mike (Chosen Jacobs), and Stanley (Wyatt Oleff) -- in an underground clubhouse sequence not depicted in the first movie.

It Chapter Two Images

The young Losers may only play a supporting role in It Chapter Two, but they cast a long shadow over the entire film. While the adult Losers are all effective in their own ways, they never quite resonate like their teen counterparts. Seeing kids confront their respective traumas is just inherently more compelling than seeing their otherwise accomplished and well-adjusted adult selves face similar challenges.

That the film lets the scenes with the kids breathe while hurrying through most of the scenes with the adults certainly suggests which set of characters director Andy Muschietti and his screenwriters’ hearts truly belong to. The best sequence with the adult Losers is the fan favorite Chinese restaurant reunion because it allows the characters to just be, for us to get a sense of who they are in the proverbial calm before the storm.

It Chapter Two: How Does the Sequel's Cast Compare to the Originals?

As an ensemble, the adult Losers all have an easy chemistry and humor together that sells their affection for one another. Of the adult Losers, Bill Hader proves to be the show-stealer as Richie, whose ball-busting banter with nebbish Eddie provides some of the film’s biggest laughs, and ultimately the most heart. (The film’s character-driven humor works far better than the jarring, Evil Dead-style gags used during what are supposed to be scary moments.) Jessica Chastain is solid as Bev -- whose previous exposure to the Deadlights provides her with a far deeper connection to the unfolding horrors than the others -- as is James McAvoy as Bill, whose resurfaced guilt over Georgie leads him on a desperate side quest to save a neighborhood boy from Pennywise.

The adult Mike gets saddled with nearly all the exposition, which Isaiah Mustafa still sells with sincerity even when the mythology veers into cosmic cheesiness. James Ransone and Jay Ryan get their respective moments to shine, with Ransone capturing Eddie’s anxiety and fear, while Ryan leans into Ben’s unspoken and unrequited affection for Bev. They may not be the most well known actors in the adults’ ensemble, but they meet their roles’ respective challenges with skill.

A good portion of the movie’s midsection sees the adult Losers split up to retrieve tokens from their childhood needed for their looming ritualistic showdown with Pennywise. Their various missions incorporate flashbacks to new scenes set during the summer of ‘89, but with the exception of one character, the information we learn about the protagonists isn’t new or particularly revealing. And at nearly three hours, such long stretches with repetitive information and callbacks to the previous film just add to the sequel’s bloat and erratic pacing. The film slows down to tell you a lot of stuff you already knew before whipping itself back into a frenzy for the final battle against Pennywise.

On the plus side, It Chapter Two engineers a number of truly unsettling and macabre set-pieces but the film relies far more on CGI and jump scares than even its predecessor did. And some of these CG monsters aren’t particularly well done. The best and scariest sequences in Chapter Two are the ones that feel real or use largely practical effects. A CG monster is simply less frightening than a tactile threat.

Justin Bieber has posted a very long account on Instagram of the effect fame has had on his life.

Sharing a note to his 118 million followers on Monday, the singer described his drug use and the "terrible decisions" it resulted in.

"I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships," Bieber wrote. "I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me, and I was hiding behind, a shell of the person that i had become. I felt like i could never turn it around. 

"It's taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions, fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits. Luckily god blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me."

It's worth noting that despite Bieber's talk of learning kindness and humility, he received criticism earlier this year when he shared a post defending singer Chris Brown.

"The people who have over looked this mans talent ... you need to reevaluate!" wrote Bieber, in an Instagram post which is still live. The original version of the post, per NME, read: "the people who have over looked this mans talent because of a mistake he made."

In August 2009, Brown pled guilty to one count of felony assault on his then-girlfriend Rihanna. The police report, which describes the extent of the assault, can be read here. Brown has also been accused of violent behaviour by a number of other women.

Despite this, Bieber's own personal post has received a positive reaction. A number of his celebrity friends have shared messages of encouragement in the comments, and the post has almost 3 million likes at the time of writing.
