How London Will Honor the Arrival of Baby Sussex - The Cheat Sheet

Londoners and the rest of the world wait with bated breath as Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is set to give birth to her and Prince Harry’s first child, Baby Sussex, any day now. The newest addition to the royal family will be celebrated in a special way in London. Ahead, learn how England’s capital will mark the arrival of Baby Sussex.

The London Eye will have special colors in honor of Baby Sussex

The London Eye, the city’s landmark Ferris wheel, will light up red, white, and blue when Baby Sussex is born, honoring both Markle’s American roots and Prince Harry’s. Call it convenient that both their home countries use the same colors on their flags.

No doubt there will be souvenirs commemorating the birth of Baby Sussex but the landmark changing colors is akin to the Empire State Building in New York City showing off Britain’s Union Jack flag.

The London Eye’s congratulatory message shows just how much England and the United Kingdom have embraced Markle as part of the royal family. Changing the lights is a pretty cool gesture showing just how much the people love Prince Harry, Markle, Baby Sussex, and the royal family as a whole.

About the London Eye

The London Eye, the city’s landmark Ferris wheel overlooking the River Thames and the city of London is a major tourist attraction.

It’s the world’s largest observation wheel of its kind, according to the attraction’s official website. Installed in 2000 as a temporary structure, the London Eye became a permanent fixture on the Thames after receiving millions of visitors annually.

Now, the Ferris wheel is the “most popular paid for visitor attraction” in the United Kingdom and a mainstay on any London tourist’s list of must-see attractions.

The London Eye has celebrated royal births before

Markle and Prince Harry aren’t getting the royal treatment on this one even though they are royals. Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, last April and the London Eye shined bright in red, white, and blue lights then too.

Another landmark celebrated, London’s iconic Tower Bridge lit up blue in honor of Prince Louis. Toronto showed Prince George some love in 2013 after Middleton gave birth to him by lighting up the CN tower with blue lights.

Queen Elizabeth II visited Markle and Prince Harry ahead of birth

Queen Elizabeth II reportedly visited Prince Harry and Markle over Easter weekend, at their newly renovated home, Frogmore Cottage, to check in on the couple.

“Her Majesty wanted to formally welcome the Sussexes to their new home so she was their first visitor. She visited with other family members and Harry and Meghan were delighted to show them round,” a source told The Sun. “The Queen was at Windsor Castle at Easter and wanted to see Meghan before she has the baby,” they added.

Frogmore Cottage and Frogmore House are significant to Prince Harry and Markle. Engagement photos for the couple were taken at Frogmore House and it’s also where the couple held their wedding reception. The cottage is a smaller residence on the property formerly staff housing made up of five units, according to Emily Andrews, royal correspondent for The Sun.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship

Although many — including Prince William — mark Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship as a “whirlwind,” the two have proven (at least publicly) that they are a great couple with incredible support for each other. But, after just one year of marriage, having a baby could shake things up for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Chances are, having a baby won’t strain Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship. But, they might hit a few bumps in the road — especially as the baby grows and they were out their parenting style. Based on their personalities and backgrounds, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might handle certain situations such as discipline and food differently.

Here’s what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s parenting partnership might look like, including some areas that might require extra teamwork on their part.

Discipline

Discipline might be a hard one for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to see eye-to-eye. The Duke of Sussex is a bit of a softy and while we are certain he will agree with his wife, he might struggle to discipline their children. This might not put a strain on their relationship, but it might be something he and Meghan Markle discuss and might not always agree with.

Food

It’s no secret that Meghan Markle is a healthy eater. Rumor has it, she has even helped Prince Harry clean up his diet since moving in together. But while the Duchess of Sussex might encourage her children to eat their veggies and opt for more healthy and nutritious snacks, Prince Harry might be the one to sneak a little fast food here and there.

According to reports, Prince Harry and Prince William loved McDonald’s growing up and Princess Diana would treat them to the fast food chain every once in a while.

Manners

As a real-life prince, manners are engrained in Prince Harry and they likely matter to Meghan Markle, too. In addition to teaching their children to curtsy and bow, say please and thank you, and all the other musts for young royals (and children in general), they will also teach their children to pick up after themselves, play nicely with each other, and so on.

As a parental unit, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will likely agree on everything when it comes to manners. However, they might teach their children in different ways and might not always agree with the other’s methods.

Royal rules

Following the rules of the monarchy is a must in the royal family. However, some believe the Duke and Duchess will take a page out of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s parenting book and ban them at home. Doing so ensures the children grow up in a more normal environment.

However, that doesn’t mean they won’t teach their children certain royal rules. Luckily, Prince Harry is a bit of a rebel and not a fan of the stuffiness of royal life. Because of that, he probably won’t get too caught up in forcing his children to learn and follow every single royal rule — which is a plus for Meghan who is still getting used to the royal rulebook herself.

'Big Bang Theory' cast bids farewell at finale taping - CNN

The feeling inside the stage where the comedy has made its home on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank was much like that of the last day of high school. Emotions were flowing as the cast and crew finished making 279 episodes of television together.
It hit some, well, like a big bang.
For the cast who posted about the final taping on Instagram, where the embargoes that prevent reporters in attendance from spilling too many details of the night or anything about the episode's contents do not apply, the mood was clear: this end of an era has hit them all hard.
"Thank you for your words. Thank you for your encouragement. Thank you for tuning in night in and night out," Kunal Nayyar wrote. "Thank you for the stories you shared about how this show made you feel. Thank you too, for the not so nice times. Thank you, for lifting us up when we were down."
Nayyar, Johnny Galecki and Melissa Rauch all celebrated birthdays on the final day of filming.
Galecki and Nayyar share a birthday and Rauch's is in June. She explained on Instagram that hers was celebrated on the final day of filming as they won't be together by the time actual birthday comes around.
Rauch began appearing on the show in the third season. Not long after, she and Mayim Bialik's Amy Farrah Fowler joined the main cast that already included Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco and Simon Helberg, forming an ensemble as strong as they come on television comedies.
"As we get ready to tape our final episode tonight, to walk in and out of this apartment door for the last time, it is hard to find the words to articulate what a profound experience this has been," Parsons wrote on Instagram ahead of the taping. "But the words "love" and "gratitude" come to mind... so love and gratitude to all of you. ALL of you. Thank you."
On Tuesday, the cast filmed the second part of what will be a one-hour farewell episode. It airs May 16.

Queen Elizabeth reportedly visits Meghan Markle, Prince Harry's home while they wait for royal baby’s arrival - Fox News

As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry prepare for the birth of their first child together, they reportedly got a visit from none other than Queen Elizabeth.

According to multiple reports, the 93-year-old monarch dropped by the couple’s renovated Frogmore Cottage to see how the place looks after all the work the couple put into it. In addition, she was able to check up on her pregnant granddaughter-in-law.

MEGHAN MARKLE, PRINCE HARRY SEND GLAMOROUS WEDDING GIFT TO IDRIS ELBA, SABRINA DHOWRE

The Duchess of Sussex is expected to give birth to her first child with Harry any day. She’s been on maternity leave for weeks with her mother, Doria Ragland, reportedly right by her side.

According to People, the queen has easy access to the couple’s newly renovated home as it sits on the grounds of Windsor Castle, just 25 miles outside London. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip reportedly spend a lot of time at the castle and finally made their way to the cottage to visit the expecting Duke and Duchess.

This isn’t the first time the couple’s Frogmore Cottage has played host to a royal visit. Despite rumors of an ongoing feud, Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly put any animosity aside in order to celebrate the Easter holiday.

PRINCE WILLIAM JOKES THAT HE HAS 'NO IDEA' WHEN MEGHAN MARKLE WILL GIVE BIRTH

Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently told Fox News that the relationship between Prince William and Prince Harry started to go sour back in 2017, when William suggested Harry take things slow with his now-wife, Meghan Markle.

The suggestion allegedly did not sit very well and caused a rift between them. However, as rumors circulate that the brothers are at odds, they reportedly got together for some family time over the holiday weekend.

Battle Of Winterfell Gets Brightened And 'Game Of Thrones' Is Not The Same - HuffPost

Frustrated by the dimly lit Battle of Winterfell on Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones”?

So, on Tuesday, late-night TV host Conan O’Brien provided a public service (of sorts) by asking his editors to brighten the nighttime scene.

The resulting (spoof) video was “kind of surprising,” O’Brien admitted.

Actually, it was rather Monty Python-esque ...

Check out the comedy clip here:

As for the actual “Thrones” battle, the show’s cinematographer Fabien Wagner has rejected criticism that it was too dark.

A lot of the problem is that a lot of people don’t know how to tune their TVs properly,” Wagner told Wired. “A lot of people also, unfortunately, watch it on small iPads, which in no way can do justice to a show like that anyway.”

This 'Game of Thrones' fan predicted the ending of the Battle of Winterfell a year ago - Mashable

Warning: Contains stabby spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8, episode three.

The Battle of Winterfell seemed to divide a lot of Game of Thrones fans. Plenty of people loved it. Others thought it was a bit disappointing. Some basically couldn't see it.

But despite your thoughts about the episode itself, one thing seems pretty easy to agree on: the outcome was certainly a surprising one.

Many people were expecting the Night King — who had been built up to be the show's ultimate adversary — to triumph at the battle. Not many predicted how, or when, he'd die.

Or did they?

Yep: it turns out at least one Redditor basically hit the nail on the head — and they made their prediction a year ago.

Here's their theory in full:

Okay, so that stuff about the dragonglass is unconfirmed. But everything else — from Arya killing the Night King with the dagger to Bran knowing it was going to happen — is pretty much bang on.

Outstanding work.

The Queen Was the First to Visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Frogmore Cottage - The Cheat Sheet

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their first royal visitors to Frogmore Cottage and it wasn’t Prince William and Kate Middleton, as many believed. Though William and Kate did stop by, it was actually The Queen who first paid the Duke and Duchess a visit at their new home.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcome their royal guests

With Prince Harry and Markle due to welcome their first child very soon, they’ve seen some family members drop by their new home at Frogmore Cottage recently.

After Markle missed the Easter Sunday church service with the royal family, it was reported that Prince William and Middleton paid her a visit to see how she was feeling. Many royal baby watchers assumed that Markle, now very pregnant, was staying home from the service to rest.

William and Middleton reportedly stopped by following the service for their first visit to Frogmore Cottage and arrived with a housewarming gift as well.

A source told Harper’s Bazaar that “William and Catherine visited because Meghan was unable to attend the service. They wanted to be supportive and see how she is doing. It was a lovely afternoon.”

The Queen was the first Frogmore visitor

According to a new report, however, the Queen was actually Prince Harry and Markle’s first visitor to Frogmore Cottage, as a source told The Sun that she came to see the couple while staying at Windsor Castle over Easter weekend.

The source shared: “Her Majesty wanted to formally welcome the Sussexes to their new home so she was their first visitor. She visited with other family members and Harry and Meghan were delighted to show them round.”

The insider added: “The Queen was at Windsor Castle at Easter and wanted to see Meghan before she has the baby.” If true, it was no doubt a lovely occasion and very much appreciated by Prince Harry and Markle.

Buckingham Palace didn’t comment on any of the Sussexes reported royal visitors since these are private visits and not official royal engagements.

Frogmore Cottage got a makeover recently

Prince Harry and Markle moved to Frogmore Cottage ahead of the birth of their first child, though renovation work created some delays.

Last month, a source told The Sun that workers were wrapping up the renovation details, sharing: “the builders have worked all week whatever the weather. But they [the Sussexes] keep making changes, particularly on the layout. The word is they’ve been quite demanding, which is understandable as what homeowner doesn’t want their house to be perfect?”

The insider added: “Given the scale of the project, a three or four-week delay isn’t too bad. The couple are pleased with how it’s all going.”

Among the home improvements were the addition of a yoga studio, new fireplaces, and soundproofing, as well as giving the property a security boost. The reported cost or the renovations was somewhere between $2.5 and $3.8 million.

With all of their recent visitors to Frogmore Cottage, it’s believed that Markle is certainly due to give birth any day now.
