Jussie Smollett 'doing well' and 'focusing on work' after alleged fake hate crime exoneration - Fox News

Jussie Smollett is doing “pretty well” after his alleged Chicago hoax, and hopes to be publicly exonerated “once all the information comes out,” according to a Saturday report.

“He is focusing on his work here in L.A.,” an unnamed Smollett spokesman told the Chicago Sun-Times. “But he understands many people still have doubts. But he hopes once all the information comes out, he will be vindicated in the minds of the public.”

The 36-year-old actor has been living in Los Angeles, according to his spokesman, since Chicago prosecutors dropped all 16 felony disorderly conduct charges against him after he was accused of faking a racist, homophobic attack.

The “Empire” star is reportedly anxiously awaiting the airing of Wednesday’s episode — the last one he filmed before he was charged, according to the paper.

Smollett, who is openly gay, is “very proud of the wedding episode this week and the history it will make as the first time two African American men have been married on television,” his spokesman told the Sun-Times. “This was an emotional time for him because he had lobbied for this wedding to happen for a long time.”

Smollett still faces a lawsuit filed by the city of Chicago to recoup the $130,000 they spent on his case.

John Singleton, the two-time Oscar nominated director and writer of “Boyz N’ the Hood,” has suffered a stroke.

Sources confirm to Variety that Singleton checked himself into the hospital earlier this week after experiencing pain in his leg.

The stroke has been characterized by doctors as “mild.”

According to TMZ, which first broke the news, Singleton had been on a flight from Costa Rica back to the U.S., which may have contributed to the incident.

Singleton, who also directed films “2 Fast 2 Furious,” “Four Brothers” and “Shaft,” received two Emmy nominations in 2017 for helming “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and documentary “L.A. Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later.” He also directed the music video for Michael Jackson’s “Remember the Time.”

And Kate Hudson was not to be outdone as a who's who of Hollywood A-Listers turned out for her own 40th celebration on Friday night. 

Reese Witherspoon and Leonardo DiCaprio were among the guests at the party in exclusive Pacific Palisades, California.

Reese, 43, looked stunning as ever as she flashed her legs in a cute floral dress. 

She added a sweater to step outside and clutched the hand of her husband Jim Toth, 49. 

The mother-of-three left her blonde locks loose and kept her make-up to a minimum for the house party. 

Leonardo DiCaprio was also spotted at the bash, as he covered his head with a baseball cap.

Kate alluded to the drinking of champagne to celebrate going into her next decade.

John Singleton has suffered a stroke ... family members tell TMZ.

The legendary director and screenwriter is in the hospital ... we've learned he checked himself in earlier this week after experiencing weakness in his leg. A family member tells TMZ, John had flown back from Costa Rica and the plane flight may have triggered the medical emergency.

We're told doctors are performing tests and also doing rehab. The stroke was described to us as "mild."   

As you know, Singleton is iconic in the entertainment industry ... hitting like thunder with his directorial debut ... "Boyz n the Hood" back in 1991. He was nominated for 2 Oscars -- Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. He was the youngest filmmaker to get nominations in the 2 categories. 

He had close ties with the Jackson family, directing Michael Jackson's music video, "Remember the Time" and directing Janet Jackson in "Poetic Justice." His other credits include "Rosewood," "Shaft," "2 Fast 2 Furious," and "Four Brothers."

Singleton received accolades for directing "The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story," "Empire," and "Billions."

Snoop Dogg is asking people to pray for John. 

John has been teaching at his alma mater recently ... USC Film School. He's teaching a course titled "Film and Culture."  

The 51-year-old also co-created "Snowfall," which chronicles the crack epidemic in the 1980s in Los Angeles.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Danny Amendola and former Miss America/Miss Universe Olivia Culpo have had a long on-again, off-again, relationship.

And it seems like they're now off. For good.

Because Amendola posted this lengthy rant about her and their relationship on Instagram, then quickly deleted it.

Grammy award winning singer Adele has separated from husband Simon Konecki, three years after the pair wed in a secret ceremony.

In an emailed statement to the Associated Press, representatives for the British singer said “Adele and her partner have separated.”

The pair who are parents to 6-year-old son Angelo, have asked for privacy moving forward saying that “there will be no further comment” and affirming their commitment to “raising their son together lovingly.”

The 30-year-old singer married Konecki, a social entrepreneur, in 2016 after five years of dating.
