Everything coming to Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Now in April 2019 - The Verge

April showers bring Game of Thrones back for its final season on the 14th on HBO and HBO Now. We’re anticipating large CGI dragons, final face-offs between rivals for the throne, more political intrigue and outmaneuvering, and likely, all-out war. At the very least, we get to see how the entire saga comes to an end.

If you’re someone who has never really caught up on Game of Thrones episodes and have no desire to, there are plenty of other shows and films to catch this month. Hulu has a slew of programs hitting screens, like History Channel’s Ancient Aliens, a show that’s been heavily criticized by experts for promoting pseudoscience but is somehow now in its 13th season, and One-Punch Man, a hilarious anime series about a man who can defeat anything with a single punch, making its season 2 return.

Meanwhile, The Tick is making its season 2 premiere on Amazon Prime, bringing another ten episodes of superhero wackiness to the screen just in time for a month where both Shazam! and Avengers: Endgame hit theaters. April is otherwise a relatively quiet month for Amazon, where we’re getting plenty of old films like Top Gun and The Addams Family.

And both Hulu and Amazon Prime are getting award-winning horror film A Quiet Place on April 2nd. HBO, however, doesn’t just have a strong showing thanks to Game of Thrones. It’s also sandwiching its original content with some diverse blockbusters from last year: Crazy Rich Asians arrives on HBO on April 13th, while BlacKkKlansman appears on April 20th.

Anyway, if you’re one of the millions who plan to tune into Game of Thrones on its Sunday evening season premiere, this is all to say there will be plenty of shows and films to pad your weekdays in between new episode releases.

Mario Lopez talks college admissions scandal: 'Nice people make mistakes' - AOL

Mario Lopez has weighed in on the college admissions scandal, calling the situation “shocking” but also expressing empathy for Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, the two Hollywood stars who have been arrested for the alleged scam.

“Obviously, it’s an unfortunate story,” Lopez, 45, exclusively told Us Weekly in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 31. “And I happen to know Felicity and Lori, and the people involved are nice people.”

Huffman, 56, and Loughlin, 54, were among dozens of parents charged on March 12 for allegedly paying bribes to help get their children into prestigious colleges. The Desperate Housewives alum allegedly paid $15,000 to “participate in the college entrance exam cheating scheme” on behalf of her and husband William H. Macy’s older daughter, 18-year-old Sofia, according to court documents.

The Fuller House actress and husband Mossimo Giannulli, meanwhile, allegedly “agreed to pay bribes totaling $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team — despite the fact that they did not participate in crew — thereby facilitating their admission to USC,” according to court docs.

“Sometimes, nice people make mistakes and do tough stuff,” Lopez told Us. “You know, as a parent, you want to do anything for your kid, but sometimes that can get a little cloudy … The whole ordeal I think was just sort of shocking to hear. … I like them a lot, and it’s sad to hear, and I know they’re going through it. So God bless them and their families.”

Some celebrities have expressed disappointment with Huffman and Loughlin, but the Extra host — who has two children with wife Courtney Mazza and a third on the way — told Us he “would never tell someone” how to parent. “I think there is no blueprint or guidelines if you try to come from a place of love, and you figure you can’t go wrong,” he added. “So that’s what I try to do — try to come from a place of love — and you have a good support system, and you do your best. That’s all you can do. Sure, everyone makes mistakes along the way.”

“So it’s unfortunate, but I think at the end of the day, [there is] awareness that it brought to the bigger issue with what’s going on as far as the admissions themselves,” he concluded. “And I think [it] brought to light a very important topic, and so the positive is maybe it could open some eyes and maybe some things will change.”

Former 'Full House' co-star Candace Cameron Bure supports Lori Loughlin - CNN

During a "Today" appearance Tuesday, Cameron Bure was asked about her "Full House" and "Fuller House" co-star's woes.
"You know, it's too personal to us and we would never want to talk about someone that's such a dear and close friend," she said. "I've already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we'll always be there for each other."
Actresses Candace Cameron Bure, left, and Lori Loughlin on July 29, 2015 in Beverly Hills, California.
Loughlin and fellow actress Felicity Huffman are among 13 people expected to appear Wednesday in federal court in Boston as part of an alleged college admissions scam.
The defendants are each charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud in a scheme that prosecutors have called "Operation Varsity Blues." Authorities say the parents paid a college prep business to cheat on standardized tests and/or bribe college coaches to help get their children into competitive universities.
Loughlin's husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is also among those charged.
The "Full House" cast in 1993.
Cameron Bure, who has known Loughlin since she was a child star and they both appeared on the hit sitcom "Full House" first appeared to break her silence about Loughlin during an acceptance speech last month at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
"A loving family sticks together no matter what," Cameron Bure said as she and co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber accepted "Fuller House's" award for favorite funny TV show. "They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets."
For her part, Loughlin has maintained her silence.
The actress was caught on video by the paparazzi this past weekend in Los Angeles and said she was sorry, but she couldn't talk about her legal issues.
"You can follow me around all day if you want, but I just can't comment right now," Loughlin said in a video posted on TMZ. "But thank you for your time."
CNN has reached out to representatives for Huffman, Loughlin and Giannulli but has not heard back.

First Joker trailer with Joaquin Phoenix is one disturbing nightmare - CNET

joker-joaquin-phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix is Arthur, aka the Clown Prince of Crime.

Nikotavernise.com/Warner Bros. Pictures

The first trailer for Joaquin Phoenix's new movie Joker isn't kidding around.

The Todd Phillips-directed origin story has been teased as a grittier take on the Clown Prince of Crime, with a few images trickling in that show Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian whose hardships in a bleak city lead him to insanity.

The first trailer looks suitably disturbing and delivers on that promised darker tone. A smiling Arthur in full clown makeup is, well, as scary as a clown. While a social worker attempts to help him with the aforementioned insanity, his line, "I used to think my life was a tragedy. But now I realize, it's a comedy" and a violent encounter with street thugs no doubt point to the tragedy to come.

The cast also includes Robert De Niro as a talk show hostZazie Beetz (the awesome Domino in Deadpool) as a love interest, Marc Maron as someone called Ted Marco, Bill Camp as a cop and Frances Conroy as Arthur's mother in an ever-steely Gotham City.

This is the first DC film to be separate from the DC Extended Universe, so we can expect no attempt to connect events here to those in the Justice League.

With eerie strings from Sicario: Day of the Soldado composer Hildur Guðnadóttir, Martin Scorsese co-producing and a tighter budget ($55 million) compared with your average superhero caper, this is looking like a Taxi Driver-level character study well worth a gander.

Joker springs out of the box Oct. 4 in the US and UK, and Oct. 3 in Australia.

Check out our sister sites GameSpot, Comicbook.com and Entertainment Tonight for more Joker coverage.

Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend Lauren London says she’s ‘completely lost’ in emotional tribute - Fox News

Nipsey Hussle’s longtime girlfriend Lauren London and the rapper's sister Samantha Smith broke their silence days after the 33-year-old artist was shot and killed in Los Angeles.

London shared several photos of her and the rapper along with their 2-year-old son Kross and other family members on her Instagram on Tuesday. This is the first time the 34-year-old actress shared of photo of the couple’s son.

“I am completely lost. I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul....,” London wrote in an emotional tribute. “I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.”

Hussle, whose real name is Emias Asghadom, and London dated for five years and both have children from previous relationships. London is the mother to son Cameron Carter with rapper Lil Wayne. Hussle also has a daughter Emani Asghedom.

The couple’s romance began in 2013 when London, who is best known for her role in the 2006 movie “ATL,” reached out to buy Hussle’s new mixtape, which was priced $100 a copy at the time. The couple told GQ last month that they started following each other on Instagram and began direct messaging each other.

NIPSEY HUSSLE, GRAMMY-NOMINATED RAPPER, SHOT DEAD IN LOS ANGELES

Hussle's sister, Samantha Smith, also paid tribute to the rapper in a lengthy Instagram post early Wednesday.

“You are my heart. You are my strength my wisdom my joy my balance. You are my Superhero. Invincible to me," she wrote. “I feel so safe with you. I feel so covered and protected."

"Imperfections do not exist with you because you are flawless. I need you I need you please let me hold you again. You are my baby. To the world you are the strongest man and to me you are the most vulnerable innocent child," she added. “Your heart is pure they don’t know you like we know you. Your love is expansive. Talk to me again. You’ve taught me so much. You hold me down through everything.”

She concluded the post by saying, "I love you forever and I will cry forever. You are my lifeline as long as I am here you are too."

SUSPECT IN NIPSEY HUSSLE SHOOTING DEATH ARRESTED, POLICE SAY

London and Smith's tributes to the late rapper came the same day Los Angeles police announced they arrested Eric Holder, the 29-year-old alleged gunman who fatally shot Hussle.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was outside of his retail store in a South Los Angeles strip mall when Holder allegedly opened fire, killing Hussle and wounding two others. Police said Hussle and Holder, a gang member, knew each other and had some kind of personal dispute hours before the killing. It’s unclear how they knew each other, but police said the shooting was not gang-related.

Holder is expected to be charged with Hussle’s murder and to appear in court later this week.

'I'm lost without you': Lauren London mourns death of boyfriend Nipsey Hussle - NBC News

By Minyvonne Burke

Model and actress Lauren London posted a heartbreaking tribute Tuesday to her longtime boyfriend, rapper Nipsey Hussle, the same day police arrested a man in connection to his death.

"I am completely lost. I've lost my best friend, my sanctuary, my protector, my soul," she wrote in an Instagram post. "I'm lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words."

The post was accompanied by eight photos that show Hussle, London and their 2½-year-old son, Kross. It was the first time London publicly spoke out since Hussle was fatally shot on March 31.

Earlier Tuesday, police arrested suspected gunman Eric Holder. Investigators have said that Holder, 29, of Los Angeles, shot Hussle and two other men in the parking lot of The Marathon Clothing store Sunday afternoon in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Los Angeles following a personal dispute. Hussle co-owned the store.

Hussle, 33, was pronounced dead at a hospital from gunshot wounds to the head and torso. The two men injured in the shooting were not identified. One of them refused medical treatment, and the other was taken to the hospital, according to police.

Holder, who fled the scene in a waiting vehicle driven by an unidentified woman, was taken into custody in Bellflower, a city in southeast Los Angeles County, after someone reported seeing an individual that matched his description.

Several celebrities commented on London's Instagram post telling the actress that they are praying for her and her family.

"We love and support you and the kids," actress Gabrielle Union posted. "Wegotchu."

Jennifer Lopez told London that she was asking God "to give you and your family all the strength you may need during this time."

"We can never know your pain, but we cry with you today," director Ava DuVernay wrote. "You are loved. You are in the prayers and highest thoughts of millions. And he is at peace. With his ancestors. And with all the Love that exists in the universe. Blessings to you, sister."

London and Hussle began dating in 2013, according to E! News. They met in person for the first time at the star's clothing store, Hussle revealed during a recent Q&A with London for GQ Magazine. They welcomed son Kross in 2016. Both have another child from previous relationships.
